
Walking has many benefits - I have a dog so have to go out come rain or shine otherwise I would not be very popular! Walking is lower impact than running so has a lesser impact on your joints but also helps to build bone strength which is important as we age. Walking burns calories and makes you feel better. There is nothing better than getting some fresh air to relax your mind and forget the day to day stresses. Aim to walk as fast as you can but a slow amble can also be good for your mental health as you take in the surroundings. Walking with a friend is a great way to catch up, burn some calories and you will probably go further than you would do on your own.
